Amex Fun

Due to wallet location issues, I cancelled my American Express card. I ordered a rush replacement card because I have plans next week and need the card before then. No problem, overnighted, arrived Monday. I attempt to activate said card. It seems to activate okay, but I notice that the online account number does not match the account number on the new card. I call. The card in my hand is invalid, a new card was sent out Sunday regular mail, causing the card that was rushed to me Friday afternoon to be cancelled. Now the plan is to ship a temporary card, to arrive tomorrow, and then a permanent card that will arrive sometime next week.
